12 May 2025   |    News
The Scottish Police Authority are conducting a national conversation on the potential introduction of live facial recognition to policing. They are currently deciding whether or not to commence official work and consultation on introducing live facial recognition, it has not yet been introduced in Police Scotland’s work.
We’ve written a comprehensive letter to the Scottish Police Authority which outlines our concerns around the introduction of LFR. It details the specific impacts for LGBT people, as well as human rights more broadly. We have urged the SPA to strongly consider these impacts and to not progress further with the introduction of LFR.
